Hi,

when the electricity gets restored after a blackout, it does not always come on nicely with the fridge and freezer motors moaning an groaning.

What I'm looking for: A plug which I can plug into the wall, which will not switch on the outlet before say 10 minutes of stable power.

Plug >>>> BlackBox Time Switch >>> Plug >>>> Fridge.

This way one could protect your equipment against the nasty effects when the electricity is restored.

Anybody know of somebody marketing this? Or is there a relay unit one could buy and build into a balckbox oneself?

I now switch off all wall sockets I can reach to in the house after power failure: eg. Computer equipments, AV equipments.......Only leave the light switch

He!, I have builded a 10 sec timer with relay in the past, its working, but barely, I used a 555 Timer IC and some transistors to drive the relay, what you need is a device that only goes on then the voltage is constant @ 230v – 250v and not @ 90 – 120 volt, that fux some stuff up, hardcore includes motors

LOL, put your fridge on a UPS, with a build in bulk converter, naah but I’ll recoment that for your PC with the UPS software installed on your PC
