I've just installed Eset on my device but am I wasting my time? The reason for doing such a thing is that I'm always getting annoying pop ups while browsing and I don't want something malicious getting on to my tablet.

Also will Eset interfere with my other apps such as TWRP etc.

Antivirus solutions for Android is a waste - using common sense alone will prevent malware on your device. The use of .APKs however might be a bit of a challenge though. In your case, where the issue is browser related, I would recommend changing to a browser that supports add-ins, that will block the said content. I am not sure if Chrome supports this as yet, but FireFox for Android does: just add AdBlock - works pretty well.

+1

I noticed Avast Mobile Security slowing my phone down. It also messed up with my phones battery life and charge time.

Thanks for input, for some reason the pop ups have stopped doubt it was malware.
