Hey~

I heard that there is an anti virus that uses local cap... is there such a thing?

And if so.. is it good enough to use?

Thanks

Have you never heard of MSE? It is one of the best anti-virus software

I have indeed heard of MSE. But my question still stands. If MS were so good at finding and stopping threats why do we need anti virus software on MS OSes? I will admit that I have never used MSE, I put my trust in security specific companies. Just like I wouldn't trust Symantec for a OS or a browser.

just saying. :)

I respect your opinion but it is by far the 2nd best I have used (better than kaspersky, bit defender etc). Avira being number 1

I see..

Does anyone know whether avast updates on local or not?

So I guess it is between MSE and BitDefender?

Is it possible to have both of these anti-virus at once? Ok, I do know that you are not suppose to have two anti-virus, because they will kill each other, but you know, MSE is that not based on the "OS" and not really an anti-virus?

Oh, another thing, if my windows is not "real" will MSE still work on my computer system?

Thanks

Yes, you can have them both, but one must be set to realtime scanning and the other one dormant or they will conflict.

MSE will only install on systems that pass Genuine Windows Validation.

Thanks... I think I am going to try out MSE, because currently I am using AVG 8.0 free edition... But I have not updated it... since I do not have CAP...

Trust Microsoft hey?

Well, my thinking is that MS gets so much bad "words" from anyone that I think they are trying extra hard to make it's AV work. That being said, I also think they will start charging for it in the near future. Hope not, as I am using it and loving it.

Sell? MSE is really basic so I don't see how it would sell unless MSFT went and found itself in some financial trouble for some unexplainable reason that you ain't telling us about?

But would you trust MS with something as important as anti virus? :p
