Antivirus

Its more then 30 days , and i think so it is still active since i am getting the same message. Hope i will contact soon the person who helped me to download it. I am not able to contact him since he is out of station. And he said to me it is free of cost.

The message means that it has expired (was probably a trail version {30days} - which is free from ESET). As it has expired it means that it's not getting updates. I suggest you make another plan until you can contact that person as you will be exposed to any new visusses that people make. (many new ones come out daily)

or otherwise go to www.eset.com & buy it online yourself. They will then provide you with a key for one or two years (depends on what you pay for). You enter that key & know you have an active anti-virus for one - two years.

MSE has just proven me wrong on a Vista Celeron machine with 2GB of RAM... slowed the thing right down. I suggested the laptop owner install it and would be impressed by this free offering... and it has just bitten me on my arse.

He has just brought in the laptop and it really is slow with MSE installed. Uninstall and it is quick again... installed NOD trial and it is quick again. EVEN AVG leaves the laptop more responsive than MSE.

Maybe it is a Vista Celeron issue... ??

Will have to do some Google-looky...

Happens in XP as well. Have a look at the system monitor and you'll be amazed at how much system resources it uses, both ram & cpu.

I find Avira Free Edition to offer very good protection while using a lot less system resources.

You are quite right about MSE resource hogging this Vista laptop... my word. It just does not let up! God forbid a reboot... takes forever to enable MSE.

Yet, I have a similar spec Celeron here with 1GB RAM and Win7 with MSE and no problems at all. Nice and responsive... a tad sluggish during a scan... but workable.

If it does this in XP too then methinks it is not just a Vista thing...

Will remove and give Avira a try... pffftttt.... MSE + Celeron + Vista + Xp = * meh *

Don't know NOD32, but our company run AVAST Corporate licence, great AV. Avast's free version is just as great for personal use.

Avast is defiantly one of the best anti virus out there, and the free version (now v6) is even better.

Yokay... for Celeron Vista.... Avast or Avira free ?? Vote now.

Avira.

I used Avast for a long time before I switched to Avira which I have been using for even longer.
