Hey

Sorry to be a bother, but can someone recommend me some good anti-virus software.

I was using ABG, but then i got something and even with updates it couldnt fix the problam, now i'm using NOD, which took the problem away, but it keep coming back. ie: NOD is completely removing the virus???

And please, dnt say Norton - coz norton just sucks

NOD32 is probably one of, if not the, best available.

There comes a point when reinstalling windows is the only option :o

Anyhow - Kaspersky is pretty good http://www.activevirusshield.com/

Hi, I've been using Avast anti virus for more than a year now, and I never had any problems. There was however a attempt made on my pc for four times, but everytime avast told me immediately, and I could stop the connection and delete the virus. Its free for home use. Google avast and you'le get the link to them.

Hi luqe

I like to run a firewall with built in AV for scanning files being downloaded and then I run an AV program on top of that that scans your files when there are activity on them. NOD32 seems to work fine for me and doesn't kill your system or slow it down when playing games or loading lots of small files. You may even want to run an Anti-Spyware application to stop Spyware from installing on your computer while browsing the net. Majority of the time a Spyware program is piggy-backing a Virus of some kind or even multiple viruses.

However, there will always be a virus that breaks through your defenses. This is when you must have other utilities available to remove these viruses or Trojans.

I use 3 highly effective programs on my memory stick to remove infections that Anti-Virus programs fail to fix

1. Trend Micro's Rootkit Buster
2. Trend Micro's SysClean You will need the latest Patern files here
3. Avenger with some script file like explained here, You can Google this to find more scripts by other people, just be careful as this deletes files and can be used to harm your computer

I prefer to run the Programs in this order:

Avenger then Rootkit Buster then SysClean

Good luck ;)

norton - corparate version :)
mcafee - enterprise version 8.5i

You need too disable your Windows Restore in System in Control Panel before you run the antivirus and then you reboot, you can then turn on system restore again if you want. Its probably restore that keeps the virus coming back...
