Any 384kb Uncapped Users?

What speeds do you get and is it worth it?

I'm not too worried about downloading stuff as long as I'll be able to browse the internet at a decent speed I'm happy.

Would also like to know what the mweb & afrihost crowd are getting during peak time on 384kb/s.

With my current package I get full unshaped line speed so it would be nice to compare.

Peak i can get around 40kb with Dowload Accelerator.

Off peak (At night) can push it to 44kb (fluctuating between 45 - 51kb)

Im currently paying R699 for SAOL 384kb Uncapped Unshaped including line rental

But for R170 more you get 4Mb line rental and 4Mb uncapped account. And even if it is shaped you will download at the normal 384kb during the day (i think) and at night its HUNDREDS! Faster than light, faster than superman...LOL

Not to burst your bubble but your download app is lying to you. It's technically impossible to attain those speeds when you take TCP/IP & ATM protocol overheads into account

True story. You'll be lucky to get more than 40kB/sec on a 384k line.

Uncapped 384k Mweb ADSL - WAS getting 40kB/s for last week on uTorrent, mix of local & Intl - NOW only getting about 12kB/s .... for 3 days straight!

Also, torrents are completely limited during the day. 1k/s if that!

takes some time to buffer, not as fast as i thought it was. But online gaming its good (Tom Clancys RB6 Vegas 2)
