Any Blogs in SA?

Yeah, that title says it all: I wanna escape from Blogspot since it's owned by the evil Google and somehow I don't trust in Wordpress neither. They are located in the USA and fall under the patriot act. So I'm looking for a truly independent blog hoster, if possible located in South Africa.

Wordpress is a website you install on any webhost, international or local. You have control of code and server unless you host with them and a subdomain

Most webhosts have the option to install wordpress or other blogging tools

As mentioned above, you can host a Wordpress site wherever you choose. My suggestion is that you buy a domain, something HermanTheGerman.co.za, then pay for it to be hosted, then load up Wordpress and start blogging.
