curious about your experience, as I am considering buying a gpu from them as they seem to have the best prices, but not sure as I have not heard of them before. So please let me know if they are trustworthy ( or not) :)

Perhaps we can get a better price/GPU for you on it from a trusted source...
 
no real question for you pcselect... just checking on prior experience with you guys, as I have not had any dealing with you and you are not a "trusted" site on pricecheck.co.za . Just want to make sure I will get what I pay for and there are no weird policies,etc.
 
actually I do have 1 question about your return policy for faulty products. Your website states that you must be notified within 24 hours of receiving the goods and you will decide the method of reimbursement. Have you heard of the CPA?? and under the CPA a product must be free from defects for 6 months and if not, then it is the customers choice of reimbursement(refund/replacement/repair)

The reason we are not 'Trusted' on Pricecheck is because we have only recently been listed on their website. You have to be listed on their website for 6 months in order to get the 'trusted' Tag.

There are definitely no hidden rates. Shipping for this GPU is R70 to a main area and R110 to an outlying area.

I have checked this up, and it has been amended. Sorry about that.

However, please note it says 'delivered to you faulty' which means it could have been broken in transit or manufactured with a fault.

If an item is faulty within its warranty period, we will pick up the item for no charge. "It is at the manufacturers discretion whether the product qualifies to be repaired under the warranty or not"

Does this clear things up?

Trust me, those little badges mean absolutely nothing and that's why my site has none of them... If you are prepared to pay to be listed on shopping sites they will gladly assist you with all the information needed to seem very legit. I started reading up on this after I saw how many of my competitors flood their sites with badges of all shapes and sizes. Same goes for the external review sites you can list, one went as far to say on their website that they limit the amount of reviews you can write from your control panel to 1000.

Do yourself a favor and click the trusted badges, then find the webmaster/sign up page and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

I understand what you mean, but something as simple as those badges can mean a more reputable store in the eyes of most people, until they actually deal with the store. Its the same as the hotel ratings system etc., its just a little more secure and trusted that someone has some checks and means you don't have to :)

Incorrect. It's the dealer/supplier's choice.

And since for the most part supplier do not give dealers cash back, and that they instead swap goods out, you can expect what the outcome will most probably be.

That's what I used to think, and then I read discussion on it here that actually quoted the Act. I think. ;) I will sit on the fence and stand corrected until a better source.

In PCs, especially online shops, a dealer returns goods to a supplier he bought from. If the dealer asks for a cash refund, the supplier will decline, as that practise is unheard of. They will swap the unit out. I very much doubt the Consumer Commission and Consumer Tribunal would be able to put the onus on the dealer to pay you cash back when their supplier have swapped the unit out. How would that make sense?

As I said, I stand corrected.
 
I am not sure about the dealer and the supplier and how the CPA works there, but it definitely works in the consumers favor and whether the dealer/supplier is the one that has to provide the refund, I don't think it matters to the consumer. I know this was a reason why a lot of stores/businesses opposed the CPA, as their suppliers would not give them cash back.

also .. don't believe everything you read on forums ;)

In order for a shop to be verified by uPrice.co.za they must meet a strict set of requirements.
The requirements are:

-The domain needs to be older than 12 months.
-They must have a clear and concise refund and returns policy on the website.
-Users should be able to pay with a credit card; this could be in the form of a direct credit card payment or with the use of an approved payment gateway which provides encryption for credit card payments like PayPal.
-The product information provided to uPrice.co.za must be clear, accurate and kept up to date.
-A valid SSL certificate should be used and displayed on all pages where payment information is requested.
-They need to be a registered company or CC.
-A valid contact method should be displayed on the website.
-The website must be fully compatible with Internet Explorer, FireFox, Chrome and Safari
-All the shop details must be captured on uPrice.co.za and must be kept up to date.

The CPA covers both the consumer and the shop owner being supplied in their own way but you're correct - suppliers never give cash refunds unless there's no alternative. I remember when signing up a business I worked for that refunds were almost impossible; because of the CPA suppliers beefed up their signup process and literally force you to allow them to dictate the way you or your customer will be reimbursed based on their own investigation.

Like Vodacom, they're far too big for the CPA to police and far too high up to care. Its the shops and online retailers that also have to contend with this crap.
