Is there any difference between the modems supplied for the Mywireless Classic and Flexi products --- ie would I be able to move between the products and keep the same modem?

any one selling a 2nd hand mywireless modem ?

there should not be a difference.

thanks - does anyone know who manufactures the modems - can they be bought for cheaper from anyone other than Sentec (either in SA or overseas?).

Will Sentec allow you to connect with a user-provided modem - or do they insist on selling one with a new subscription?

Thanks

There is categorically no difference between the classic and flexi modems. PUrcasing modems from outside SA is not recommended as you will probably only save a few hundred rands (if you save anything) and you may end up buying a modem that operates on a different frequency like some other poor sap who bought modems from NZ last year! But if you have success, please let us know! Good luck

You are able to get connected with any modem that operates on the MyWireless network although I doubt you can do this through Sentech. Rather you would have to go through someone like us. www.justconnect.co.za

The only change in modems may be the newer revision modems that are supposed to be available soon...different casing & removable battery

The new modems cater for the new channels which are not implemented in SA yet and are still a long way off.
Current modems (like all modems) have only one general channel where everything is lumped in.
These new modems have 3 channels, a dedicated video streaming, a dedicated audio streaming and a general channel.
They also transmit a lower power and thus the battery life is much greater.
The lower power is not a negative because the older modems were greatly overated, got hot and had a low battery time.
