Kekeke, Dude you know I tried to play them but it got so bad I would rather shove shards of broken glass up my @ss and sit in a tub of tobasco sauce then play it!

RPG's get boring, FPS is the way forward.

Admittedly for fantasy RPG's Diablo 2 certainly has set the benchmark.
FPS (unless online) are generally very short games in comparison with RPGs. You can play a FPS in 10hrs and the game has the same outcome.
Some RPG's have quests that take more than 10hrs to complete. Even KOTOR took 60hrs to do ... and that's just with 1 of the many endings, using 1 of the 6 character types and 1 of 2 alignments.
Either way, the ability to find secret & hidden things to wear/use/fight with and kit yourself out with what you want and build your own character always seems more appealing than just running around shooting random okes.
Agreed, the game play is not as fast, but it is definitely more involved and long lasting.
Yeah, I've also been waiting for a good single player rpg to come out for quite a while now. Jade Empire was quite nice but felt too much like a reskinned/modded KOTOR2 for me. (and was quite easy)
Recently got the witcher and I must say, it's restored my faith in single player rpgs. I can play this for a good couple of hours and and not even think of wow (quite a feat for me). My only complaint about it is the sometimes irritating controls. (i play over the shoulder)
