Hi,

I'll be traveling for a bit and staying in Uitenhage. I can find options for Port Elizabeth, but nothing in Uitenhage. Can anyone recommend the best short-term method to connect? I was hoping not to depend on my hosts to install ADSL for just a month. I would rather get my own PCMCIA card or cell phone with a cable that will plug into my laptop and have it good to go when I get there. Ideally, I could get a G3 or other type card cheaply here and bring it with me and just connect to some kind of wireless service. Any advice or ideas? Thanks!

I've been waiting for fishhoek for 3 years now. ... . . .. . . if iBurst do not have coverage there then get 3g from mtn. I've found mtn's 3g to be 1000000000 times more reliable than any other providor

3G is probably going to be your best bet for short term.

Just a note to update this in case anyone searches. I used a HSDPA on a PCMCIA Option GT card. I bought a few SIM cards to test for like a Rand each. I wound up using MTN. Everywhere I went in Uitenhage, Port Elizabeth and even in the resort areas along the garden route, I got a full speed signal. I thought MTNs service and coverage was excellent. Inside the house in Thomas Gamble I could work sitting in just about any room. Thanks to all who helped.
