Hi People,

I want to record my game play for various games at 1366 x 768 at least.

I know about fraps, but It only lets me record 30 seconds, and I don't want to use a pirated version of fraps. Ive tried hypercam and it didnt work.

Is there any other program I could Use to record game play?

Thanks :)

Here is something I found a few weeks back. Haven't tried anything from it yet though:

I decided to finally make this post after weeks of trying 4 of the most popular gameplay recorders I could find. Here is my conclusion:

Keep in mind I was playing BC2 on medium settings, 1080p, at about ~90+FPS. My specs: x4 965BE (stock), 6950 2gb (900mhz O.C), 8gigs 1333mhz ram, and my HD has a tested +90mbsec sequential write speed (plenty for 1080 raw recording according to frapsforums.com).

FRAPS (latest Version)

KILLS in-game FPS while recording. Recording at 30fps 1080p, made my ingame go from 90->45-50 BUT once it dipped below 50 it automatically locked the ingame framerate (even with the "don't lock framerate" setting ON) to the recording framerate (30fps) which is not really a playable fps on pc. File size were huge but not a problem.

FREE! MSI AfterBurner Beta (Latest Version)

I LOVED using this program because it never locked my framerate if my ingame dipped lower, and it also had more recording options that allowed you record compressed footage that still looked great. PROBLEM: The "compressed" version was pretty demanding on my system (about the same as FRAPS) BUT it did give you great quality recordings that you didn't need to convert, HOWEVER, this compressed video is impossible to edit in any program without converting it, and good luck with that, because the only converter i found was NOT free and trial produced choppy video after converting. The full quality compression performs like fraps even though it doesn't lock my framerate to 30fps if it dips - so better but still not good enough.

GameCam (trial)

Terrible quality - didn't really bother to even get full version.

WINNER --->>>DxTory (Ver.2)

DxTory gave me the option to assign multiple Cores from my processor (I assigned 2 out of 4) for recording and every possible quality/codec settings. Here are the results: 1080p 30fps recording (In-Game 60+FPS while recording) FULL QUALITY (1minute=4gigs) OR 720p 30fps recording (Playing at 1080p and In-Game 60+FPS while recording) Xvid Codec (edit friendly and about 150mb per minute).

Dxtory also allows you to record full quality 720 while playing at 1080p if you need the extra FPS for playing. AND It also allows you to record your voice in a different channel so that you can edit/remove it from the recording if you choose to do so.

PS: I also tried Dxtory on 955BE (stock), 6950 1gig (900mhz OC),4 gig ram and it recorded 1080p 30fps while playing 50-60+FPS. AND I was playing in 32 player matches.

tl:dr : DxTORY ([1] http://dxtory.com/v2-home-en.html) can record full quality 1080p 30fps footage while you play at 60+ (if you have a setup similar to mine above).

hopefully this will help some people recording footage more often and get some BF moments out on the interwebs.
