Now that Telkom have announced the 8Mbps price point for ADSL lines I'm wondering whether Crystal Web has any plans to add a premium uncapped product to the line up based on this new 8Mbps Telkom line speed / price point. I notice that Telkom's retail web site doesn't currently list the 8Mbps line speed so maybe it is only a wholesale product for ISPs at the moment but I wouldn't have a problem taking a Crystal Web bundle with ADSL line included if necessary. I confess that I'm slightly leaning towards having Telkom manage the ADSL line but I'm not inflexible on that decision.
I'm looking at options primarily for live streaming with typical HD streams that I view likely to be in the 3Mbps to 4Mbps range; no gaming or significant downloading. Vox Fatpipe Lite plus unlimited bolt-on looks interesting but so too does Crystal Web Premium Uncapped since it is affordable, seems to be geared to streaming, and I wouldn't need to worry about daytime data limits. Crystal Web and Vox also seem to be two ISPs that are very well regarded here.
I'd quite like to have a bit of extra headroom in case I'm doing any iPad browsing while watching TV but bumping the speed up from 4Mbps to 10Mbps seems a bit excessive whereas an 8Mbps bump might be something I would go for. Also, I think the cabling to my block, based on looking at another apartment's router stats, is only good for a maximum line sync of about 9.<something>Mbps so 8Mbps would seem to be the ideal speed to get the most out of my line at a hopefully somewhat reasonable cost.
Any plans for up-to-8Mbps "Crystal Clear Premium Uncapped" and or "Home Premium Uncapped Bundle" product(s) in the foreseeable future? I realise no pricing will be given until all the internal planning and signoffs have been done and that a "yes we're considering it" would in no way be any sort of guarantee that it would eventually make it to the product lineup but I'd be interested in even any vague pointers about whether it's something you're considering or not. I'd be looking to sign up for something sometime in November.
