Has anything changed at the Dainfern tower recently?
I have been getting good results for the last two years or so but my signal strength dropped a couple of weeks ago, since the last problem with the tower. It used to be five green LEDs on my UTD but now it ramps up and down from three to five over several seconds. I know that iBurst uses adaptive antennas and I wonder if someone has changed something in the settings.
I have difficulty with browsing. Sometimes I have to refresh the page several times as it appears to freeze while loading. This happens with both IE and Firefox. E-mail and file transfers work fine albeit much slower (20-30KB/s). Jitter is very bad (90-100mS) and Skype is unusable.
I am about 2Km North of the tower and I have a 17dB outdoor yagi antenna (very directional) about 4 metres above ground which is pointed directly at the tower over a slight ridge. I have tried tweaking it for optimum signal but no improvement.
The only other thing I can think of is that the rain has caused a tree to grow into the signal path.
Can anyone throw any light on my problem?
