Any real difference between hdd's

I know I'm hijacking OP's thread, but how about some pics of your NAS?

5 custom built desktop PCs and 3 HP Microservers.
Not much to see.

Ja, you get to a point (after about half a dozen drive failures) where you just decide to do things properly. I'm currently running a 7TB Gen7 (4x3TB RAID 5) and next upgrade will be to a Gen8 (4x8TB RAID 5). Nothing more annoying than losing data.

Just wanted to ask, besides speed of rotation,
What else is diffrent between a 2,5" 5400rpm drive and the same but 7200rpm?

Reason i ask is my laptop hdd drive is clicking,
Less than 2 months old, only 2 things i notice diffrent about it,

Its a slimline 2,5" and 5400rpm model,
But less than 2 months and already dead? Must be a new record.....

Is it worthwhile to simply ditch the slower drive and get a standard drive?
