I have been having too much downtime on my 50/10 fibre line. I am with IPComms and I have just about had it. They are quite responsive but the connection has just been bad and they seem to just throw their hands up in the air. Half the time they are not sure what’s happening. They keep repeating a standard instruction about testing speed with a cable connection not on wireless, first who cares ? all my devices are on wireless. Plus yes I know the cable will provide more stable and maybe a faster connection but the WiFi was working fine before so if speeds have dropped it’s not the WIFI! I am quite sure it’s not a problem with the router. Let me add I am on Vumatel and in Northern Suburbs, Cape Town. Any recommendations are welcome.

The cable test at least establishes a benchmark, with cable you should get close to line speed. That eliminates that variable so from a troubleshooting perspective its one less element to deal with.

Having said that try reach out to @SpaceCowboy-D @cavedog or @websquadza to see if they can assist you

Happy to assist :) Who is the fibre provider?

Ah yes... Also cable test means wifi isnt just being blocked by microwave.
Was miffed with my router for weeks and weeks, until I realised microwave was causing signal issues not router!

Just FYI, IPComms has a Seacom upstream ISP issue affecting VPN, secure voip etc. its fixed about an hours ago.
