Hi guys

Anybody know of any reliable and fuel-efficient 6-seaters on the market?

Will look at 2nd hand as we won't be able to afford it brand new.

We will need a bigger family car as baby will arrive in December, and a normal sedan/station wagon won't just cut it any more.

TIA

Toyota Verso?
Toyota Avanza

They arent hot property, but functional, reliable and affordable

Avanza is the only thing the only thing that comes to mind although it is a POS and they are high on the list of wanted cars for thieves and highjackers as they are VERY popular in the townships.

Thought of an Avanza as well... But yeah, don't want something that's high on the wanted list.

How much are you looking to pay, Ook? Can't really make any worthwhile suggestions if we don't have some idea of your budget.

Avanza's a horrid, horrid lil' bread box. I have an issue with cars that want to go onto two wheels at 30km/h.

Eish, that's toit. You might be able to get something like an older Renault Scenic / Opel Zafira / Toyota Verso for that kinda money. Actually... go here; AutoTrader search with '7 seater' as the keyword. Have a look at the first few pages...

That's a tight budget for 7 seats - good luck. :)

*edit*

D'oh - dunno why I read 7-seater, although they're slightly more common than 6-seaters... Here's an AutoTrader link for 6-seaters as well. :o

Verso is pretty fuel efficient given its size. Nice reliable family car.

Mazda 5 maybe?

Mazda 5's a lovely car, but that 2l petrol doesn't quite fit in teh fuel-efficient category.

As mentioned look around for some 2nd hand Toyota Versos or VW Tourans. Don't know if they'll fit your price range though.

Honda FRV? although I don't much like the 3 people in the front seat, but you do retain teh boot, unlike most of the 7 seaters.

:D no, not even close to that... But my wife did buy here a pretty nice opal when she was in Oz recently, guess that's close enough.

Meriva is pretty decent yes, sadly the new ones with the suicide doors are way too expensive. The old one is not bad but since its based on a Corsa C it might be a little too small for the OP.
