Hi all...

I do web hosting / web and software development....

I don't need your SEO services, but I am thinking of doing a training day for small business owners, non technical people on running a website.

I am thinking of doing presentation on web hosting as well as on setting up and running a website using my custom written CMS (link below).

I was thinking of getting someone on board to do a discussion on SEO.

Not sure if this will work, if we will get people who are interested to come to an event like this, but would like to look into it at least.

I have almost no money so it won't be a fancy venue, will be in some type of community hall or something similar.

Anyone interested?

John

I would but im CT. Have some valuable SEO knowledge to share

Yup - I am a pro SEO with several very large corporate clients (won't name drop here). PM me with your details and we can chat.
I do real, organic SEO as well as the simple PPC stuff.

There are no courses. SEO changes so fast that any course is out dated by the time you read it.
Google around for the basics and then dive in and start experimenting. You'll figure it out after a while if you have an analytic mind and stick to it for more than just a couple of weeks.

Off topic: Where could I do a course in SEO?

For now, just go to YouTube and search for SEO tutorials. They will give you the general idea of what to do and what not to do. As the person above me said, SEO changes a lot so you have to keep up with the changes(join webmaster/developer forums(not mybb)) It's really NOT that hard so you will be fine once you understand how things work...the rest is up to you and your creativity.

Good luck ;)

Also do a search for "Matt Cutts" on YouTube. He's a high level engineer at Google in charge of combatting webspam, and the unofficial liason between Google and webmasters all over the world. He has to toe the official Google line so don't expect anything in depth, but he has some very good guidelines and basics.

SEO has many factors, baclinking, social networking, articles and blogs and much more

You need to think about what area of expertise you require
