Looking for a 500GB SSD, got my eye on a Samsung evo 850 for R3k.

If you're aware of any sales etc let me know thanks.
 
I'm very wary of Evetech, they advertise one thing and send you something else.

Just got one of these from takealot for 2999.

My first ssd, installed in my notebook. Amazing performance bump
 
Ok no worries, picking up a 960GB Samsung SM836 on the weeekend.
 
Even with it being second hand you can't really argue with 960GB's, also I think AJAY is wrong in saying the remainder of 3 years because I'm relatively sure they carry a 5 year warranty.

It's only got 90hrs power on, so used less than 4 days. Was a backup they kept in storage. The 960GB is what sold me.

I saw the 90 days, I would've bought it too, my post was more to point out the 5 year warranty.

SSD's are indestructible for the most part anyway.

I'll check the warranty once I have it and report back, even if it's 2yrs as stated I'm still happy with that.

Paid for my replacement PSU today as that might land next week hopefully, I see the price has increased in the interim as well.

Warranty:

5 Years/6,160 TBW

6160 Terabytes Written, good luck getting anywhere close to that. You can write a Terabyte every day for the next 16.87 years.

Busy cloning my hdd to the ssd, hopefully when I wake up it's done without issues. Using macrium reflect.

Still on a 250gb so can't quite justify an upgrade yet. Set up price watches for good measure though
