Not sure about a Technology Architect but Enterprise Architect yes.

What is a technology architect? Or is it just a fancy name for something else, like Waste Removal Executive (dustbin guy)

Hmmm... don't think I'm familiar with the role of a Technology Architect. :o

An Information Technology Architect is the individual responsible for linking computer technology decision making and investments with an organization's tech business strategy. The individual is responsible for organizing a consensus of decisions on policies, principles, services, standards, guidelines, and common solutions for the betterment of the company or organization. IT Architects are responsible for guiding the process of planning acquiring, building, modifying, and deploying IT resources throughout a given department.

I've seen a CIO as similar though. And there's a level of Project Management there too. What sort of profile would fit such a position?

Not that I'm job hunting right now but if I may ask...

I hold a Business Degree. Also an MCITP Enterprise Admin (Now MCSA). And now in Project Management learning the principles of AGILE (Scrum) and PRINCE2. Would a Technology Architect be a likely career path in future? May need to add ITIL to that list though :)

I don't think I've ever interfaced with a Technology Architect nor noticed this description on anyone's signature before. It is probably quite industry specific then. Though I accept I'm still quite young. Fair enough :) moving along.
