Hey guys,

Tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since we ordered our Closer Plan 4. The day after we ordered the immediately cancelled our R7 Plan. I phoned 10219 and the lady tells me: "Sir the conversion is instant"...pffft yeah right. 3 weeks later i am still waiting.

Last week Friday, the consultant lady at Telkom Direct, phoned like a mad man to find out where my application was. She emailed a lady with my order no and told her in the email that i need my line urgently and that they must phone me with regards to if my application has been processed.

Well, i didnt expect to hear anything from them.....and raai wat.... I haven't !!! LOL

Now, what do u guys suggest i do. Go to Telkom Direct shop everyday and nag the hell out of them till they process the damm thing or what ? It really ticks me off that they cancelled our R7 plan immediately but they take FOREVER to process our damm DSL application.

Any tips/advice will be appreciated !

Thanks

Just nag the supervisor, cos he or she will maybe do something. Try and go everyday or every second day if possible. which area are you in?

not much is gonna happen unless you nag and nag them....or have a contact ;)

:) Yeah, got my Closer Plan 5 in one week!:)

It helps knowing someone there. Na, but the guy I know (who is in charge of our local exchange) could not do anything about bumping my line up to 1mb, as it is done remotely from Cape Town. BUT what he did get right was to have the order marked extremely urgent. Try seeing if you can get that done.

Just remember; how does that old saying go; "you catch more flies with honey" or something like that? Be nice, even when you want to kick someone in the head; you'll get further, and at the end of the day thats all you really want to achieve (getting further that is) in anycase.

Thanks for all the replies peeps. It was at our Telkom Direct Shop (in Bloem) again yesterday afternoon, and as luck would have it, i got to speak with the same lady that i initially ordered my Closer Plan 4 from in the first place, 3 weeks back.

She then phoned the "big boss" who sends your application out to the techies and he said that he has my application, he just needs confirmation whether or not there are any available DSLAM ports at our exchange, then the application will finally be processed.

He apparently emailed the lady and is just waiting for a response from her...hopefully if she can get her backside into gear then i might be lucky and have it FINALLY before the end of the week.

LOL..the consultant lady then told him over the phone: " Nou dit is wat ek vinnige diens noem"....pffft I just sat there and bit my tongue and gave a friendly smile. So now I hope and pray that they will come and install it before Friday, otherwise on Monday I will go and NAG 'em again and again and again and again.....

Hopefully I will be sorted within the next week. ;)

If it is sorted within the week please let us know. I hate to be a *** ou and wish you bad but I doubt you will see this in a week. The age old tactic of telskommel is to tell you that so and so is doing it and so and so needs to reply here and there and before you know it everyone knows nothing.

I hope you do not get led down this garden path. There is a fundamental reason why we are never given a direct person to speak to. Ever tried to call the 0800 375 375 number? If you get anyone replying in less than 30 minutes i will personally fly to any part of the continent and give you a reacharound.

Good luck!!!!

Timed them 2 weeks ago when I phoned

9 min 32 seconds to answer ( at 12 noon )

They gave me the installation date and the techie contracted to Telkom installed it 2 days earlier than date given

In JHB

Hmmm,

Is that 0800 number a toll free number ? Can i make enquiries there about how long or how far away my installation is ? If so, then i will be 24/7 on that number untill they come and install the damm line...

Somehow i also feel that the other bigger cities, like Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, JHB all get their installations done first before they get to processing orders from good old Bloemfontein where i live. Cause i find it hard to believe that are more than 20 installations for dsl in bloem during any given month of the year...*sigh*

Time to start dialling 0800 375 375

Make sure you have an inside man working in the ADSL installations department. Wife and I just bought a new house...moving in on thr 15th of December...I just phone Telkom today to order the new line and cancel my existing one. Sent the order number to my inside man and the line will be installed either on the day I move in or the week after. :D

I don't really think there is a way to rush Telkom along. Ordered an ADSL line for my new house of the 6th of March this year and I am still waiting. Just got off the phone with Telkom and even after speaking to a supposed Supervisor the best answer I can get is to call customer care to find out when they will install the installations department doesn't have any information...

Arzy...i feel your pain. The other thing you can try, is to post a comment at hellopeter.com. I made a post at 11 o clock with regards to poor adsl service delivery. Hopefully i will receive a phone call from them later today, seeing as other people who also complained at the site, got phone calls from telkom regarding poor service within an hour of posting a complaint on the site.

So give it a try, i am holding my thumbs that i will get some sort of a response, after reading other ppls positive responses after complaining about a telkom related issue on the site.

Maestro...u lucky fish, thats all i can say, actually lucky is not the word that i wanted to use, but your still lucky :D
