Any worthwhile MNP specials yet?

Are there any contract specials out there yet? My contract ended a year ago and having been waiting to port since then, however haven't seen any special offers or anything other than the usual coming out.

My phone is now old and crappy so any specials coming out in the next week would be perfect.

I really want to go to Virgin but find their phone selection a stumbling block for me.
I am surprised they have not today advertised the latest and greatest mobiles hot off the press to lure prospective 'porters'.
Virgin have the best rates I think and without being tied into the 24 month contract its is a winner.

I doubt you'll see MNP specials now, i was just at an MTN shop and told the guy i want a contract . So he got all the usual deals for me and then i told him, i will only do this if MTN can bring my Vodacom number across...and there the "uh, ooh, aah" stuff started.

Basically he told me they can't do it, it will take a few weeks to get into "Full swing" ...so wtf , why have a date if no one is "really" ready. I even asked him if MTNSP need to do it [i.e. retailers not being ready, but HQ might be] , same answer.

So i just said i'll talk to them again once they can do it, and left , he was pretty quickly on the phone taking my details and all that.

As with all new concepts... we have to live with one thing .... that is a teething process ..

My advise is to hang in there for a week or two until the guys at the coal-face get clued up as to what they need to do.

In this time the marketers at the various networks will also roll out their new offerings in response to what hte competitors are dishing out.

I plan to shop in a new phone in december ... cos then I know the guys go crazy to entice you to spend your christmas bonuses (which in majority of companies gets paid athte end of November)....

Damn all this waiting ....

My eye is set on the SE K800i purely becos of the camera (xenon flash). I have a top of the range Cybershot camera but find that having a cell camera is invaluable in documenting the ad hoc outings that I take my very young kids on.

The best offers will probably come out in December but I've waited so damn long with a phone that needs to be recharged every day otherwise the battery dies (Old Nokia 5100).

Oh well I've waited this long what's another month

I'm porting from mtn to voda, but mtn kept on blocking it on their network,so I had to go to a mtn shop. They told me it wasnt their fault, I must phone customercare. Thats why I hate mtn, because they dont wana help you. And voda do help me.
