I'm working on a theory...anybody in Cape Town capped yet..like in really capped?
 
why don't telkom offer bigger capped accounts.. like 10gig.

They only offer shaped and unshaped 2,3, and 4gig.

i'll rather have a semi-shaped 10gig, vs uber-fast unshaped
 
Thats only Telkom as an ISP, the other ISP's offer those types of packages, 10GB shaped is around R490.

Quite an arb post...

I'm not capped yet though.
 
Mine has been down for almost all of today. Some international sites do load but most don't. Even those that do are like way slow. Really frustrating.
 
Capped?

I do believe I have been capped/throttled at least. I was using me download manager when halfway through a download(@ 80Kb/s) it dwindled off to a gut wrenching 4Kb/s. It was horrible to watch.
When I checked my bandwidth moniter all was revealed...I had indeed surpassed my allocated bandwidth...
And then I cried myself to sleep in the bed that I made.

Anyway......Not sure if that helps you with your theory.Is it a conspiracy?

Anyone know anything about inaccessible international sites???:confused:

Mine seemed fine when I got back, but that was around 6pm...

Heard about international not working :/ Is all fine now? Mine seems okay.

Here's part of an email reply I got after swapping a few emails with iBurst...

If possible, please advice the subscribers on the forum you frequent to please forward the IP addresses they are using to info[at]iburstgroup.co.za so we can investigate further.

Please maintain your connection and dont disconnect. A reconnection will assign a different IP address and our network department will not be able to trace the problem.

rofl. there should be awards for most comical isp in south africa.
