In November 2004 we replaced our 256k leased line with 10 x ADSL's ( 5 in our Ct office and 5 in our JHB office)

The system started off well, we manually split up users ( based on traffic usage) on various gateways on our network...

Now we find ourselves in a situation whereby I have to manually change users over various gateways because of peering link issues etc etc.. Our mail exchange is hosted at IS. I am in a catch 22 here.. for fast mail we use the IS lines, but for fast browing, ftp etc we switch to the SAIX lines... Its just not working out !!!

We have: 14 ADSL contracts
2 x IS capped 7 gig
4 x M-Web 9 gig
6 x SAIX 3 gig
2 x IS business ADSL

Yes quite a bit, but compared to our 256 its peanuts....

So.. Is there any company / person out there who is interested in advising us on best to make this solution work ??

I am looking for some sort of management system whereby I can make one change and it affects all users (maybe creating one combined gateway with Network Load Balancing) but more importantly optimising the entire setup..

Any feedback would be appreciated..

PVT me and i will give further info

LOL.
We run 4* 512 ADSL lines for BROWSING and downloading only. These are accessed by everybody using SQUID proxy on port 3128.

1 * IS business ADSL 512 for all other types of access requirements for the general users, this line also is the OUTLOOK server's line.
1 * IS business ADSL 512 for all other types of access requirements for the programmers/technical support users.

We're probably not as big as you (About 50 users), but this arrangement is working out purrfectlee. Methinks the proxy idea is the saver.

Well first I would start by reducing the number of physical lines, upgrade half your 512Kb links to 1Mb lins and get rid of the remaining ones.

One way to do this is to connect a Layer 3 switch to the ADSL routers. Put your mail traffic on one VLAN and the rest on a different VLAN. You can also use deterministic routing, the traffic type is analysed and based on that forwearded to the correct gateway.

Many ways to skin a cat...

Mangoman20, I would recommend contacting David from Synaq (Linux Managed Services) www.synaq.com
They will be able to put together a solution for your problem and they come very highly recommended.
