I can access both services via my WD TV Live. It is however a nightmare trying to sign up for Spotify, since the only way to do it nowadays, is with a CC from one of the countries in which Spotify can be subscribed to. South Africa not being one of them.

Gift vouchers etc. does NOT work anymore with signing up for Spotify.

I have looked at Deezer as well, but am limited to 30 second tracks at the moment. I think this is due to my "Free Trial" being complete, but I cannot find a clear answer on the net for this.

It is very cheap to subscribe to the full Deezer services from SA though, but is Deezer as good as Spotify?

Any feedback form users locally will be appreciated.

Deezer has a pretty large library. And the user interface is pretty good. I particularly like that I can store offline music on my S4 and listen to it wherever.

However, certain artists are excluded. Such as Led Zeppelin and the B52s. It really depends on your taste. I think its well worth it for R60 or R70 a month.

This. I have been using Deezer for about 6 months now. If there are obvious gaps in their collection, you can also upload them from your personal library, and it will be availble to stream. It really is a cool service.

I use Deezer all the time and it's amazing. I have a music loving friend that says she'll never be able to live without it now.

At only R29 a month why you complaining? Just use it already.

The iOS app is very user-friendly and has a gorgeous UI.You can sync songs to your phone to play when offline.Every song I have looked for I have found on Deezer.
The Simfy app looked cheap which was an immediate turn off.

Subscribed to full service on Deezer yesterday. Happy as a pig in sh#t ! On WDTV the services is bit clunky to use without KB & M, especially with turning stuff like default shuffle on and off etc.

So I installed on my tablet and using MiraCast to play through my WDTV to my AV . The touch functionality was final cherry on the cake. Music selection is great and easy to use and navigate. Even at eventually R60 per month, worth every penny.
