Anyone else experiencing slow Telkom internet?

Hi,

I think this has been happening for like 2 days now. Web browsing is really slow most of the time. I'm not even capped - I have 3GB left out of the 5GB allocated for this month. I did a speedtest and it gives me great results - which is weird because web browsing is slow. Even international gaming is really bad - normally it isnt that bad but now days its crap.

Is it just me or are there others that are getting slow Telkom internet?

I have the same problem as you. On 4mbps uncapped and streaming, FTP and HTTP downloads are at horrible speeds. Speedtest also shows awesome results. Telkom did numerous port resets and whatnot, disconnected sessions, you name it. Now awaiting an actual technician to investigate possible line fault. But who knows.
 
Hi oku , I am also experiencing speed problems at the moment , high latency's to local servers :/ 230 - 350 has been the average for the past few days, slow browsing pretty much the same as you, maybe you should log a call with telkom or your isp ?
 
If you read my response carefully, you'll note that I was directing my post to the OP.
 
Also experiencing really slow Telkom internet in Cape Town, quite sad was looking to download something and then watch it .... download is going at 10Kbps ....
 
I have an Afrihost 1GB account, which I tested today and it was way faster than Telkom. On Afrihost's website it says they having "Reduced thoughtput on International Websites". I downloaded a 140Mb video file with Afrihost which was going at 60 - 90kb/s, poor Telkom was giving me 10 - 30Kb/s.

I'm going to contact those Telkom people, something is clearly up with this 5GB account.
