Double Billed?

I cant get a bill from MTN.

They are happy to take money off my account every month but when I ask for an itimized bill they can't seem to produce one!!!

They cant produce bills!!! they even admit it to me!!! LOL!

Here is my challenge to ANYONE. Walk into Vodacom and ask for your bill and itmised bill -> you'll receive one VERY qucikly. at MTN is NEVER ARRIVES!!!

I hate hate hate hate hate MTN!

Double billing -> I am suffering from "we take your money but don't explain why".

MTN - Blackberry is WAY SLOWER THAN VODACOMS and MTN's billing is BROKEN!

I hate them with a passion!

No double billing this month, but the system is fudged! The ivr & mtn active would list no subscriptions, but the statement does (sms and data bundles)! Anyone else experience this?

I check my usage each day. And last week I saw I went about R60 over and I still had R2 over the previous day and all I did was sent an sms. If MTN doesn't fix their billing system soon, I am going to leave them when my contract expires.

Thank God, I left MTN as I had billing probs since April LAST year. Their staff is WWE compliant and not sufficient in their jobs. Same as Home Affairs.

Go to Sainet. Much cheaper than MTN. Even their OOB is cheaper than MTN's in bundle. AND their website works ALL the time. Even your balance is in REAL TIME. ALWAYS.

I finally snapped and have now asked them to cancel my contract.

I got a new contract and phone from Virgin Mobile. I know that they are rubbish and I am not expecting much from them and so my stress levels are lower. If they are super useless i will just pay the outstanding amount I owe on the phone and move on. No more MTN for me.

There is a huge list of things that have made me hate MTN. Each on its own is not that bad and totally solvable. Some of them are once off annoyances but if you put them all together it is incredibly frustrating and annoying.

  1. The whole MTN birthday competition with all its spam SMS messages that you had to pay to stop (R1 sms to the number with the word STOP or something like that).
  2. My phone took over 2 weeks to be ready and I couldn't get the one I originally wanted.
  3. They didn't debit my account one month even though every other debit orders went through fine. Had to phone to get them to fix it.
  4. They didn't move my number over fully so for months I could not receive calls from Telkom numbers.
  5. They double billed me on last month's statement and actually debited my account for a payment I made.
  6. It is 2 June and the first fell on a work day but the debit order has still not gone through. If I have to phone them one more time...
  7. I have rubbish coverage where I work and so calls would cut out.
  8. MTN data is slow where I live compared to Vodacom and Cell C - also a signal issue.

I just can't take it anymore.

I am grateful for all the help Snakepit and Dr_Data gave me. You guys are helpful and great. It is a pity that I had bad experiences with your company.

Run, Run, Run

all i can say is run.... they useless in billing...and to sort it out, is a )*))&)*_(^ mission impossible...no one takes responsibility for their balls up....

I feel your pain. Good luck explaining to some brain dead uninterested accounts clerk how you claim your phone bill, and because of MTN's incompetence the double billing shown as a credit on your next invoice leads to the net effect coming out of your pocket.

From hellopeter:
Thank you for your post

We would like to apologies for the delayed response and inconveniences caused

Please note that a recon was done on your account and charges are valid therefore you are liable for those charges.

Kind regards
Sibonile

Goodbye forever MTN.

Well got my reference number and in 30 days time I will be MTN free. Then there will probably be the 3 months that they bill me for my contract even though it has been cancelled. But after then I will be MTN free forever. I will never, never, never, never, never go back to them...ever.
