Anyone follow NBA ?

Yeah Heat went on 12-2 run to close out the game. And yes the Heat's defense was immense, held the buls to 34% field goal percentage and 15% 3 point percentage!!!
 
The heat are not going to lose 2 games at home. They will return back to Chi-town up 3-1 and finish them off 4-2 at home probably.

King James, Lord Wade, Bosh and Haslem played great last night..What A GAME!!!

Tonight though I hope OKC wins. Dirk is just unstoppable with that ugly-ass fadeaway that never fails...If I were them I would get someone really physical and just get on him all day, throw a couple elbows at him, pull his jersey, talk some trash about his mom, I mean you have to get him off his game somehow...playing one on one is not enough, Dirk is way too skilled, they have to get dirty.

But man, really this is where I believe coaches make their money, you agree?

Like you have to figure out a way to minimize Dirks damage, Lakers couldn't do it at all. The guy spreads the floor, he can hit from anywhere, inside, outside.

He can't play D so I think maybe they should go attack him and try to get him into foul trouble? I wish I was coaching OKC -- It's like trying to solve a puzzle lol, I'd love this challenge.

I think both the Lakers and OKC tried that a little bit but it failed because Dirk can be really anywhere on the court, so if you take 2 players to guard him and he decides to wait near the 3 point line, your inside Defense is f'd.

He can just kick it out to a cutter, Jason Terry, Chandler or whoever is open.

Really a tough guy to guard all of the sudden.

I think they need to try Durant on Dirk again, they had to take him off when he got the 3rd foul in the last game but he did the best job I think. Lol this game is going to be a must-watch.

It was a low scoring game, but Rose only scored 21 points. Compared to James, who scored 29. Probably the lowest Rose has scored in a while.

Yes as that leaves a player open and Dirk can just throw the ball out to the 3 point line. Look at the damage the Mavs did against the Lakers when they made 22 3 pointers.

Yeah guarding Dirk is tough. Put one man on him and he kills you inside with his fadeaway and outside with his 3. Put 2 guys on him and that leaves a second player to knock down a jumper or cut as you said.

It's tricky because Chandler is also a beast so you have to have Perkins on him at all times. I'd put Ibaka on Dirk but Ibaka isn't a starter. I guess the only realistic thing you can do is put Durant on Dirk and hope for the best.

Sometimes efficiency really is the difference. In Game of Mavericks vs. Thunder, Dirk Nowitzki and his dominating efficiency was the difference.

This wasn't a crazy fast game. There were 91 estimated possessions, which just isn't a lot. It's not an abysmal amount, it's just below the season average for NBA teams. In short, in a game where every possession was crucial, Dirk Nowitzki made the most of his. Every single one, just about.

48 points on 15 shots and 24 free throws. Three misses, combined. Dirk Nowitzki shot a basketball 39 times and missed thrice. It was an other-wordly performance. It was the stuff of legend. And Dallas needed every single bit of net Nowitzki earned. The Thunder will have to focus on how Dirk Nowitzki can't possibly duplicate that performance. The Mavericks will counter how the Thunder can't rely on Kevin Durant scoring 40 each game. The Thunder will reply that Jose Juan Barea isn't likely to continue to play at that level, and the Mavericks will suggest the Thunder ask the Lakers about that. The Thunder have Russell Westbrook's struggles. The Mavericks have Peja Stojakovic and Jason Kidd going 2-9 combined. The list goes on.

But through it all is this. When the Mavericks needed him, Dirk Nowitzki gave the Mavericks exactly what was called for: A nearly flawless game. The Thunder want to continue going one-on-one with Nowitzki, putting players like Thabo Sefolosha and James Harden on him? There's no reason he can't amass 24 free throws per game, or score 50. The Thunder made a decision not to double. It was a not a winning strategy, because Nowitzki is not any other player. He is one of the best offensive players this league has ever known.

So much of the playoffs depend on matchups. I chose Oklahoma City in six for my prediction, based largely on those matchups, and I feel largely the same about them a game later. But there are players that transcend matchups, who are their own universe of inequality in terms of capability against their opponent. Durant is such a player, when he's truly in his finest form. But Nowitzki was just a little bit better Tuesday night. And that was because of his efficiency. Durant was good in that area, too, scoring 40 on 18 shots, missing only eight. His three turnovers were just one worse than Nowitzki's two. But that difference was very much the game. Nowitzki responded to what his team needed.

But more than that is the fact that the Mavericks could count on points when Nowitzki touched the ball. It wasn't an opportunity or a good chance, it was a near certainty. "Give this guy the ball, he'll get points." At the most basic level of basketball, it was the very definition of success. When Nowitzki touched the ball, he failed only twice, missed only three times. There are a lot of questions about whether efficiency is really as valuable as some make it out to be.

In Game 1, it was very much the difference between a win and a loss for the Mavericks.

One of the best games of the playoffs...Score was tight all the way til the end like my first girlfriend. Great game by Durant and Harden especially, big shots when the shot-clock was down. That guy is my #6 man of the year.

And good job on the D, Dirk still did his thing but he missed big shots when they needed them most.
 
Harden's really picked up his game during the playoffs. He got a lot of flak for not producing during the regular season, being a # 3 pick and all, but he's playing very nicely in the playoffs.

He did aiight, he was the leading bench score in the 2nd half of the NBA season, average around 16pts a game.
