Anyone for tennis ?

@Brian_G or anyone else who might know.

Have searched and cannot find relevant info., so short of phoning DStv, asking here first.

Wrt Wimbledon starting on the 3rd July, apart from the obvious fact it'll be broadcast live on Supersport Tennis, will it be on Supersport Action, Variety 1 or 2 as well, the rest of the tournament - this is on satellite I'm referring to.

At this stage, can only get the TV Guide to generate 2 weeks max. up to and including the 3rd July, so don't know the schedule beyond that.

Haven't seen the tourno broadcast live in years, (literally since days broadcast on M-Net, so don't know recent years' channels they use).

As per screenshots, that's what I come up with currently (selecting Variety 1 and 2 on the 3rd displays other sport, even though they're listed in the Tennis section).

Also to clarify, Compact Plus is the only other package that gets these 3 channels (apart from Premium)?
I'm never entirely convinced the channel listings are fully up to date (just perception, not fact).

Streaming not an option for a number of reasons, one of which is convenience as it's not only for myself, and would have to spend far more on a Roku etc + added data over capped, than the R450 difference this should cost.

Thanks - an answer / answers to above could help me decide on getting Compact Plus for a month, instead of having to get Premium.

There are usually multiple feeds so it’s split amongst the channels. Check which channels the current Queens (cinch) champs is being broadcast on to give you an idea.

Eg it’s on SS Grandstand and SS Action as well. Whereas the WTA Bett1 is on SS Variety 1 and Variety 2.

I thought this was an open invitation to play ... :(
I thought "Finally, someone who actually plays/wants to play tennis" Been checking different venues around Midrand but it seems only kids play tennis and not adults. There is a bit of activity in Centurion though.

I haven't watched much tennis for ages so really can't comment, except that I think it's likely to be on Variety channels later these days.

It's not possible to get the guide for more than 2 weeks.

Don't think the call centre will know, maybe some articles on Supersport.com could help.

Thanks - I searched specifically for tennis schedules to do with DStv but default results went to articles in the UK (even though browser was set to SA) with their channel coverage.

Going to go with Compact Plus and hopefully it'll cover enough of what I'm after for a month (which includes the Tour de France and remainder of the Ashes - I'm more sure of those from what I saw).

Seems this is still an option :

Only issue is it might be too far to travel to the northern suburbs (Houghton) every week, but I'm sure you'd a find a few people on your level ; standards were good to high in the "old days" when I was last a member there.

.

Wimbledon has started.

Swiatek has won her opening match convincingly in straight sets.
Djokovic and Harris also in action

I need to find somewhere to watch the tennis. It's time to start trialling some alternative services.

At the moment.

Djoko never got his trademark down the line backhand going well enough. This Alcatraz was too fast.
