Anyone gaming on Telkom Mobile LTE?

Hi guys,

I'd like to know if anyone is gaming on a PS4 or the like with Telkom Mobile LTE.
How's your ping?Download?Upload?

I'm getting really bad ping in BF4/BF1.
Mostly 1 bar. Very rarely 2 bars.

I've been getting download speeds around 35-38Mbps and upload speeds around 5-7Mbps.
Ping around 19-40ms to Johannesburg servers.
190-300ms ping to London.
Speed tests are the same with the bunny antennas and internal. 300m-400m from LTE Telkom tower on the map.
Using a Huawei B315 router. 3-4 bars out of 5 constant connection signal.
I'm based in Polokwane.

Would a poynting antenna make a difference with latency on LTE?

Get about the same on the Xbox one thats with a poynting antenna and i have bars. Im in Cape Town

Telkom is generally good when their network is fine. Down and up is good too. Depending on location.
Gaming isn't really that good.

That's good to hear. Do you game ok without lag/glitches?
At least I can still game without any extras. I suppose I should be thankful to Telkom.

Gaming just fine in BF1 on my telkom LTE for now,

1 bar of LTE, no issues on the local servers or the international ones.

Will be honest, the only game that works is battlefield 1, every other game like rocket league, killing floor 2, tom clancy, etc - is horrible and lags constantly.

Clearly telkom doing some form of prioritization for popular stuff.

Gaming on Telkom LTE ? forget it . It's about 60 ms slower than ADSL and very erratic.

Today when playing bf4 I got disconnected from the server. Imagine that with the specs above.
My latency is somewhat messed up. 30ms ping but when I do a trace route,it shows a whole other story...

That's what I thought until I tried it out. It's actually better than my 20mb adsl line in terms of speed and ping. Price to data ratio is a bit out compared to adsl though. Maybe it depends on your location and congestion at times.
