Has anyone got a 3D printer that wouldn't mind printing an Raspberry Pi case for me?
I will pick it up if you're near me, or pay for postage/courier if you aren't near me.
I will also gladly pay for your time, materials etc.

Alternates?

I had a look at that, but theyre harder than hens teeth to find. Also, for 7 pounds you can get a pretty decent case online. The only place that I know that has a 3D printer wanted to charge me R2000 for the print!

That's mighty insane considering you can buy your own, pretty decent quality 3D printer for between R4000 and R6000

I think cause its an industrial level 3D printing that prints for local car manufacturers. Its cheap for the manufacturers to get out of date parts printed... then creating a mold and doing it in the traditional way. However, theyre willing to pay top dolla for printing... I am not willing to for out that type of cash.

Have a laser cutter, can do it out of perspex or cut the holes for you out of a pre bought casing if you send me one.

Need specs and design though, no time to mess around with stuff like that (especially as I don't have one to use for sizing).

Thanks. Plan B was perspex... will PM you if I resort to that.
I was hoping for the print in plastic just for ease of use on my side.
Perspex solution will require quite a bit of work/thought

Depends on how you want to design it.
Just a box with some screws for the lid will be easy.
A box with flip open lid or led's for deco or whatever may get complicated.
Either way (3d print or laser cut) you will have to design something.

Nah... was looking to use a design from the interwebz: Raspberry Pi Case

We have 10 3D printes on the floor, ranging from extreme entry level to extreme accurate. Ill gladly assist.
Come to think of it, the prices you got for 3D printing of R1800 sounds about right if we had to do it on the highly accurate machine. That printer costs about R650k and materials about R10 000 for 2Kg, but I have the raspberry designs for 3D printing on the RapMan and the material cost is negligable.

Send it to me and we'll do it on the house

You may just get bombarded with requests if you offer it on the house :D
