I'm thinking of getting the DISH-A0011 from poynting and to try and aim it straight at 110. While talking about 110, anyone know when the hell this damn thing will be working again? I'm still getting 1kbs or less down but I can upload at around 15kbs (256 package). Where is floracliffe anyway? close to honeydew or what? North, east, west, south of helderkruin? Maybe I should ask that american girl who moved in accross from me, they always seem to know where north is[:p].

Got one of those

Works pretty well, where the modem alone sees 1 light, I get 4 lights and 30 % with the antenna.

You need a good pole to mount it on so you can swivel it from side to side and up and down.

Their kit includes the pigtail and mounting bracket, but you need to order LMR-400 cable seperately ( about R55 per meter)
The cable price includes the connectors and them fitting them and testing.
They neededed 24hours from order till I could pick it up

They are very helpfull, give them a call.

great stuff. Already spoke to someone there, she gave me a list of prices and cables required, very helpfull unlike nowire who have no clue how their own products work.

I'm not claiming to be an expert here, but just remember
that the A0011's ideal design specification is 2.4 - 2.5 Ghz and
not above. Even within Poynting, there appears to
be differing points of view on this!!!

CONDAMAGE: Floracliffe is south of Helderkruin and a mite to the east - not very far. Tower is probably on top of the Flora Centre (or maybe on top of Macdonalds' yellow obscenities!)...[:p]

Well it works well for me

Like I said the most I can get with my one installation is 1 Light anywhere on the property, but I get 4 lights and 30 % with the antenna, so it seems to work on Mywire frequencies

thx for the directions mbs [:)]. Without my pringles tube I get up to 4 lights the close I move to the window on the edge of my building. With the tube I get 3-4 lights and still be able to connect the thing to a pc. If I got my directions figured right then I'm pointing the tube from helderkruin to the direction where macro use to be on hedrik potgieter. So if 110 is on/close to flora center and the tube works as directional antenna, then what the hell am I connected to [:p]?

negative... 110 helderkruin is on the sabc(sentch) mast further down the mountain range, the direction of burnt down macro. but dont get confused with 82 radiokop up near rockcottage

cant you see the HUGE sabc mast on the mountain from where you are? in fact it might be "overshooting" you

The 2.4-2.5Ghz rating, could be seen as the antennas sweetspot,
ie highest amplification at 2.4-2.5, but still has fair gain just outside that range.
Considering MyWireless works on 2.5-2.53, the gain is good.
I got pretty much the same setup, I purchased the A001 Yagi from them and mounted it on a 60cm Dish.
Before : no signal
After : 10 - 18 % (after 3db cable loss)
