you can maybe try eitai2001... he used to run the digital addiction website.. As far as i know they use Magento, he has since sold the site but its still running..

Naeem, I had migrated from Open Cart to Magento a few month ago. Yes, it is really a great platform with a huge community, lots of modules, templates... It truly gives the opportunity to attract shoppers and to make the store look gorgeous. The only thing I don't like- it is slow. But there is no point for you to ask, Make a small check list of features, you need, make a research, visit Magento forum to see major issues and errors.
Also you can visit Cart2Cart migration service website site, they migrate stores, and have a number of helpful comparison articles. I think it will help you.

Hi There,
Not knowing the software I decided to have a look at what would be important to me and that is support. There is one partner based in Cape Town who provides e-Commerce solutions and has used Magento in providing solutions across Europe according to their website. There was another partner listed but as they do not have a South African office I decided they can't count
I also looked for negative comments and found not many.
It certainly seems to be a great software product and I liked their websie as well.

Are you looking to use the community or the Enterprise version?

Regards

Tim

I use Magento quiet a bit, and bridge it with Joomla (magebridge) for better CMS and ACL functionality. It's very stable, but the learning curve is quite steep.

I'm always looking out for SA Magento sites, yuppiechef.co.za has to be one of my favourites, and i'm keeping an eye on the new http://www.dionwired.co.za which loads pretty damn fast, it's also Magento based and uses the joomlart theme ( http://www.joomlart.com/magento/themes/jm-easyshop)
