Anyone have experience working with this CCTV PSU?

So, on Friday, my Earth Leakage tripped, not sure why. I thought it was the Inverter but i put it back up and all was fine.

Then I noticed, our CCTV cameras were all offline. Long story short, the power supply seems to now flash a green light and doesn't power the cameras.

The unit looks like this:



If I disconnect the 12V cables from the PSU to that distribution board with fuses, the PSU works fine and the green light stays on. It outputs 12.3V on that line.

The moment you reconnect the that distribution board on the right, the PSU flashes green and only 1.3V is shown on the output. All the RED LED's have a faint flicker as well.

I've tried disconnecting some cameras - no effect. I've also checked all the fuses - no effect.

Anyone got any other ideas?

I think you are going to have to disconnect all the cameras and see what happens then.. that way you can rule out the cameras and or the cables to the cameras being an issue or the other way around, one the distribution board being an issue..

If all is well with all cameras disconnected, connect them one by one until the issue comes back..

Did you actually put a load on the PSU when you disconnected it?

It might show the correct voltage but when it gets a load it drops so PSU can still be faulty even if it measures correctly. It can also be a faulty wire/camera that drags the power supply down.

Disconnect the PSU again and test it with a load that way you can see where the issue is PSU side or Camera side.

Replace the fuse under the green holder. Its one of those silica crap ones with the sleeve on it, it will test fine but it's actually not allowing current to flow properly. Replace it with a regular fuse of the same rating. Solved a "similar" issue on a gate motor for me

That fuse under the green holder is for the primary input 220v that is why it is covered and not a glass fuse since its for higher voltage and so on. The other fuse is for the secondary output 12v. Load test is the quickest way to see if its good or not I have had to repair many psu's showing voltage but under load there is almost nothing.

I got myself some digital voltmeters, lcd, put them on my alarm and cctv, supply , checking them quick.
