So the complex my GF lives in has changed their ISP from afrihost to Faircom.

We have a new router which works but we do not have internet. We called the help desk before 5pm and was told to change the port to No.4 which we did - still no internet.

the person from the help desk said he would call back but never did!

is there anyone here from Faircom that can help please.

LoL! You changed from Afrihost to FairCom? Jeepers, your Trustees do not love y'all!

I used FairCom whilst staying in a place called Anfield Village in Cape Town.

F^&%^& they were horrid. Wait till you find out that they have ZERO support over weekends and stuff. In the particular complex, I stayed in, I am sure I can still use the (Yealink T19p) intercoms to eavesdrop in other units because they had left them with default creds. My assessment of them was, someone with lots of money was like, we can build an ISP, and off they were without adequate skills.

I have one chap's number who I arse licked to be a friend to help me but I am not even sure they still work there. I used to use them 4-5 years ago.

thanks but the complex she lives in won't change. afrihost wasn't working out as they apparently go through teralink fibre or whatever they called.

I don't bother with her fiber, I just stream direct form my phone to her tv far better than her buffering fiber.

I used them in a building in Gardens for a while. There was just a ethernet drop in the house and I'd get DHCP from there.
I used Faircom as the ISP but Internect was the last mile, but, Faircom owned that as the last mile provider so it was kind of way cheaper although there were other ISPs if I wanted.

The connection was mostly stable and aside from some weird routing once or twice that I complained about, it was livable. The price at the time was also pretty decent, but I think its due for a review.
If they haven't set it up correctly, you might have a bad time.
