Anyone here using Paid Usenet account

Hey,

I have recently decided to try Paid usenet accounts, anyone on the forum actually using Paid usenet groups for example : giganews, newsgroudirect,usenext, newshosting, etc..

Just want to have reviews from personal South African who are you using any of these services.
 
I have a Giganews and an Easynews account. I strongly recommend the latter, as you are able to zip up your files and download the resulting zip files via HTTP, HTTPS, even on port 81 as well as 80. NNTP protocol seems heavily shaped, even on alternative ports, but HTTP is not, so downloads fly. Over the past couple of years I have d/led close to 2 terabytes off Easynews. On a 512k line nogal. I think it was bwana ( before he became a mod LOL! ) who put me on to the benefits of the Easynews service, and for that I am most grateful.

At R70 per gig of int. b/w, 2000GB * 70 = R140,000:eek:
 
Love Easynews. Sad that overseas bandwidth is so expensive, I am only making a small dent in my monthly easynews account. I am using their web interface and it is dead easy. In my opinion they also have an extremely good search facility.
 
I have a 2 Gb Giganews Account. I use some of my leftover bandwidth every month to grab stuff off there. It usually flies in at full line speed.
 
yeah unless you have an uncapped account the paid services seem to be rather cost ineffective imo
 
have uncapped giganews account + uncapped mweb account - 1mb line

newsbin account + giganews account + unlimited cap = :)

Run at line speed most of the time. Highly recommended

:eek: How much does that uncapped M-web account knock you?
