And the sacrificial anode, especially considering that rust is already a problem.Drain geyser first and then remove the bolts and replace element, thermostat and gasket.
Any idea what caused this?Drain geyser first and then remove the bolts and replace element, thermostat and gasket.
Life. Geysers rust given time, and it usually happens on an edge (it is easier to seal the steel of the inside walls from contact with water/damp than to seal edges). Most geysers have sacrificial anodes which will rust faster than the rest of the geyser, preventing the rest of the geyser from rusting. Once the anode has rusted (you'll likely find the remnants of yours in little rusty flakes inside the geyser) the rest of the geyser is not protected and will start rusting.Any idea what caused this?
