Hi all

I have a very huge problem:

I can connect to iBurst without any trouble. The "connected" pop-up appears and everything is fine. When i open Internet Explorer I get a message that says Cannot locate Server, but I;m still connected. Then other times my Homepage (Google) loads perfectly and I can even Search but as soon as I want to visit a website I get the "Cannot locate Server" msg again.

To work around this I have to keep Internet Explorer open and disconnect. I then click on the webpage on google and Internet Explorer asks me to log on I do this and the page loads. As soon as I click on a link same thing. It took me forever to post this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! I don't know if its my settings or what. Thanx in advance

Chris,

Try clearing you IE cache. Also check in the IE network settings whether some spyware program has not lodged itself into the proxy server settings, attempting to redirect you. Also get something like Spyware Doctor to run through your system to check for spyware.

Are you running any acceleration programs such as Google Web Accelerator or Onspeed? If so try to disable them and then reconnect.

Let us know.

Update to Question

I reformatted the hard drive and re-installed XP Pro and Service Pack 2. I'm using iBurst. I re-installed the iBurst package with no luck. I even made a new connection using Windows.

I even tried Firefox and it says the Server was reset. Maybe it's my modem (UTD). I'm using Bitdefender Internet Security v10 and all the scans come up clean. Can anyone please give me the settings for the iBurst connection, maybe that's the problem.

Hardware?

Hi Chris, please give me more detail on the hardware, e.g. what type of modem and PC and how are they connected?

Not perhaps a firewall issue here? Bitdefender has got a "stealth mode" firewall and "Internet Traffic Control" both of which can really stuff around your connection if not set correctly. Try temporarily disabling it to see if you can connect. If you can re-enable the firewall immediately coz if I read right you recently reinstalled and that means no patches or hotfixes on your PC yet which spells trouble on iBurst as this network is rotten with infected machines!

more than likely that you need to set your MTU with DrTCP...

if not then check that your iburst's latency is lower than 100
