Just wondering if there is anyone else out there using one of these phones?? I've just ordered a Palm Pre Plus from the UK as my secondary phone. It's being activated on the UK App Catalog and I'll unlock it when it arrives here

No, don't even know of anybody here using one of them. So much potential and hype at the beginning but it seems quite mute these days expect for the 1.4.5 update.
I know hey!! Soooo much potential. Was really impressed when the original Pre came out and wanted one so bad. Also said that if I for whatever reason couldn't have an iPhone I'd take a Pre
They seem to be quite popular in the States (obviously not close to iPhone or BlackBerry, but still pretty popular). Quite sad that they never launched in SA - then again, Palm was a big failure in SA
So, now I'll have an iPhone as my primary phone and a Pre Plus as my secondary phone

There's one on bidorbuy for R3k, I was really tempted. Looks like a fantastic phone.
The one on bidorbuy is still a Pre (not a Pre Plus), is second hand and has a QWERTZ keyboard. Spend about R500 - R1000 more and you can get a new Pre Plus (with a QWERTY keyboard) from the UK

Perhaps now that HP own Palm we might see them finally in SA, but I imagine they'll have a newer phone out soon. The Pre seems outdated hardware-wise now.
The Palm Pre Plus is still pretty new though - only came out a few months ago. They upped the Pre to 16GB (from 8GB) and 512MB RAM (from 256)... Not too outdated
Will look forward to them wowing us with HP's intervention though - maybe a WebOS tablet DJNgoma

Lekker show-off My Pre is also a UK one, but for some reason couldn't get the App Catalog going - must be coz I tried it only when it got to SA!
Even updated it to 1.4.5 to get all the free apps, but nutting...

Yip, probably 'coz you activated it in SA for the first time. Fortunately mine has been activated for the first time in the UK
