I was talking to a guy earlier with a Note and he showed me an app called Aptoide. Looks like an Android version of Cydia where you can basically download everything for gratis.

I've never of heard it before but it's on the Play store as bold as brass. Anyone using it? And if it's on the app store is it unethical rather than illegal?

EDIT: Hmm, no-one???

Anyway, saw this same guy just now and he demonstrated it. Asked me to name an app, I said Endomondo Pro. He opened Aptoide, searched and there it was. He proceeded to download it for free, opened it up and there it was. Fully working paid app for nix.

I'm just surprised it's allowed on the store, and I'm also surprised I've never heard of it I guess. I'm not going to download it because I don't really approve of it. Was just wondering what others think. Has no-one heard of it or tried it?

I use it... well used it... but its not as polished as installous for iOS.

Installous would keep track off your "paid" apps that you have installed through "unknown sources" and let you know when updates have be released.

Where Aptoide you will have to manual check up and see if there is a new update and also you dont know what was been changed in the package by the user who submitted it to Aptoide...

So I just buy the item now. Its funny how a open system like Android has made me a honest man as opposed to the closed system of iOS where I never brought anything!!

:D

I feel the same as well. With my S2 and my iPad2 I'm completely legit, really can't be bothered with jailbreaking anymore. I do mess around with Android, but all above board if you don't count voided warranties.
