Anyone using ISPAfrika?

So they were quick to come onsite today to do a site survey. I wasn't at the premises but I told the person they could get onto the roof etc.

I'm not excited about the fact that they didn't bother to call me to make the appointment - who sends an email to schedule an onsite visit? Nor did they bother to call me when they were onsite, or when they were done. I don't expect the results today, but it would have been more professional to at least keep in touch with me.

I can only comment on their Telkom FTTH offering. Their pricing is the best around and I've had nothing but good service from them.

Anymore feedback on this? I'm considering their WISP offering.

(I originally posted some feedback on them here but thanks for reminder to post here too)

I've been connected to their 5mbps uncapped WISP package for about 5 weeks now. Some feedback:

- Site survey & install was quite quick & their techs were nice to deal with
- Speeds are decent - generally 4.6/4.7mbps down & closer to 5mbps up. Bear in mind this is with 100kbps reserved for VoIP.
- Connection has been far more reliable than telkom but still a bit of up & down
- My usage is not super heavy (36gb this month so far) so can't comment on any throttling/FUP

After about the first week I started to sometimes experience connection drops for a few minutes at a time. Contacted their support and their service wasn't great - after a week of no feedback as to the cause or a resolution I sent a 'this is not the level of service expected...' email and the next day (or 2 days later, I can't remember) they came & swapped out the equipment.
Since then I've still occasionally experienced the drops and for the last few occurrences after about 8 - 10 minutes of down time I've manually power cycled their router to get the connection back up. Haven't experienced it for about a week now though.

In summary: far better than Telkom but some infrequent issues which are hopefully just teething issues to be ironed out. I would recommend trying them.

Thanx for the update. I did contact them in the mean time, my house is not under their coverage, unfortunately.

Bump - Has anyone got any updated feedback on their wireless uncapped? Am getting a site survey tomorrow and hoping they have line of sight as pricing is really decent.

So got the 5Mbps uncapped wireless installed today, I must say the service so far has been amazing.

I enquired about the service last week sometime and they booked in the site survey for Friday, Monday they advised that it passed and we can proceed. Filled in the form and booked in the installation for this morning.

They guys arrived a little before the booked time and had the whole service installed and running within 2 hours. They did a speed test and was getting just under 5mbps and between 2 and 3 upload. Will see how it goes and report back but for the price of R499 per month seems like one of the best deals around.

Im using Ispafrika for almost 1 and a half years now great service we had a issue with vandalism as criminal elements were targeting their highsite and vandalise it over and over and they responded quickly to repair the problem
