Hi Guys

I have a family member that is trying to avoid taking anxiety meds - are there any natural alternatives that you may have used with success?

I read about Inositol and Choline, has anyone used it?

Thanks
Kitty

Sounds similar to me.
What soar said is huge (sleep, exercise and diet).
Another 'cheat' I have learned is to keep something like Ativan (100% not natural and addictive = bad) on me in case I need "a way out". It's been three years and I haven't used one. Just the knowledge that I do have something strong on me helps a lot.

When you need to chill don’t take a pill, a hit from the bong can do no wrong!?

That plant the bushman chew also works quite well, can’t remember the name, you can also get it in pill form.

Hmm. There are a few things you need to ask first.
1) why you don't want to take the anxiety meds? Both the prevention and the relievers.
2) How bad are the anxiety attacks
3) What are you trying to accomplish with these "natural" remedies

+1 the benefit of the anxiety meds is the GP visit. Don't come to a forum to get advice on drugs... Also "alternatives" might not be as safe as you think... Be wary.

He/she lucky im here

I say try CBD and THC before going to the GP. The GP is likely to recommend manufactured chemicals.

Magnesium before inositol and choline, but choline is an essential nutrient for brain health so why not.

You know being on a calorie limited diet also increases anxiety and some diet shakes have additives like green tea extract (read: caffeine) that can drive anxiety. Need more information from you.

ah look at you recommending CBD and THC as some wonder drug. Ok you you have a patient that clearly is suffering from a mental disorder i.e anxiety and your first advice to them is to ignore their medical doctor whose going to prescribe "chemicals" and you recommend "chemicals" that can exacerbate any underlining psychosis.

...

FYI over 80% of the world entire drug library is naturally derived in some way.

Also how much is a bottle of proper CBD oil from a reputable vendor ? R300 - R400?

Are they eating well + exercising as a start? Getting decent sleep? Tried cutting out stimulants?
I agree. They should first try good foods plus consistent exercise. It helps more than you think.

CBD oil is not cheap, but if it was me I would try it before trying any of the normal prescribed chemicals.

Rather do it the other way around its cheaper and safer in the case of psychiatric patients. If you get no joy from pharmaceutical products then by all means go down the rabbit hole of "natural" medicine

but remember these "natural" medicines dont go through regulatory bodies as they are complimentary medicines so they can get away with tons of things. Like using methanol to dissolve certain compounds in their mixture. They are just as processed as pharmaceutical products and they make just as much maybe more money than pharmaceutical products.

Thats the deception and marketing they use "hey its natural there no evil scientist here"
