for a specific colour that is only available after the price increase after 1 September is plain bloody stupid!

There, I've said it AND I started a new thread!

For Pete's sake people, I cannot believe that people are willing to spend an extra 3k to buy a bloody car that is not white!

Don't EVER moan about the price of a car if you have gone through this process!

yeah just do what we do in Krugersdorp- a paint brush and bucket of enamel.... works wonders

You getting it from the dealer I'm assuming? Is insurance not covering it?

White cars rule!! :D
I got a quote before the price increase. Waited a month for my colour, the dealer honoured it even without a deposit.

Please elaborate for the younger bunch who are still students.

Do I have to type this slowly so that they understand?

A new car will cost m o r e after 1 September because this friggin government sees fit to tax us on CO emissions which means sweet blow all because the money is just going to their coffers...anyway...don't delay, buy your new car today...:D

BTW, the cars we were discussing in the thread where this came up (Ford Figo, VW Vivo), aren't available anywhere in SA at the moment anyway. So you'll be waiting till next month regardless.

Didn't get the colour reference, do they import other colours after white or is it just for people who want to customize their colour (and hence wait)?

Somebody was waiting for a sea Grey Figo, instead of taking a white that was available.

The factories paint various percentages of colour. The majority of cars percentage wise will be white, and that is all preplanned in production

LMAO...what's the penalties for not sticking to CO emmisions? Coz yo know our country...half the taxi's are unroadworthy and don't even know what CO is...the reason things like this can WORK in Europe and the US is because their ratio of old carsvs new cars with CO bandages are about 0002:1 and in South Africa its aout 4:1...yes...just take a look around you...there are still older cars out there, even a 330D 2009 model has less CO emmisions than a 1995 Cresida!!!

THis is BULL ****...just one question though, will the second hand dealer sold car prices also go up?

OH...and its being done overseas since we want everything that's being done overseas...its called a WRAP...WRAP your car in the colour you want...just 10k extra, protects your paint and last for 5 years GUARANTEED

so why charge extra for CO emissions? what is it costing the government? is it just a tax to force people to buy lower emission cars?
nice trick. make money for nothing.

then surely 2nd hand car dealers will have to bring the price down on cars that have high CO?

Yes...3.2 GT has a very high CO2 emission!Bring that's baby's price down!
