Anyone with chrysler neon 2001 model

Hi guys,
I have a crysler neon 2001 model. I have a problem from quite a few days. The car is making very big noise while starting the car. It is there for 30 seconds and its gone. I went to a mechnaic and he said he need to change the alternator belt(multi v belt or serpentine belt). My question is can i use any belt other than the chrysler belt? If yes which make belt can i use?

You can use any after market belt that is designed for a 2001 chrysler neon. A spares place will tell you what's available. The only belt I would be wary of not getting from the agents is the the cambelt.
