I am looking at starting a hosting business and connecthosting seems to have decent reseller packages. What is the opinion of others.

Never heard of them, but if you're going to resell rather go with one of the bigger well known (overseas companies) for stability of your own company business model. Notting is worse as providing a service to your customers with a unreliable (maybe cheap) provider and you spent all your time solving problems and putting out fires. Had a trial run myself with a cheaper provider, but in the end it cost me more money as what i saved lucky i only tried it wih mainly my own sites and couple of customers sites which i moved away from the cheaper provider asap

Hostgator is a well known large company which you might want to have a look at. But there are others as well. My advice rather go for the bigger well known as the smaller (sometimes one man operations) with all the problems

Ive been using a US based company for about 6 years now, servint.net, I have never had any issues with there service and there support has been great.

Compared to gridhost's VPS packages they offer more bang for your buck. Also, and I know this first hand, they do daily backups of the machines data something most VPS providers dont do.
