So, while contemplating the meaning of life, i starting thinking about how 3d tv's could improve gaming.

The best idea i could come up with was simultaneous full screen gaming for 2 people.
All it will be is instead of sending different images to each eye of the user (using active shutter glasses) the different images get sent to 2 different people, allowing 2 people to play the same game using the full screen size. Surely this would be a possible option>

Yep, the new Range rover does it. Same idea though not same application. Driver sees Satnav while passenger sees DVD movie on same screen.

Yup, Sony have that tv. not sure if it's out yet. 2 gamers on one TV, both seeing different pictures. Pretty awesome. I think however, that dual video output would have been better and cheaper, in other words, no need for split screen.

Agreed, although some people might not justify buying 2 tv's just for that. Unless you get your mate to bring his TV around each time :p

That sony tv is sold as a bundle overseas with a console.

So damn cheap too.

Lowcost 3D TV Bundle [via pcworld]

Sony plans to sell a $500 package that includes a PlayStation-branded 24-inch 3D television set, a pair of glasses, and a PS3 game. The TV will also let head-to-head gamers view different full-screen video while playing games.

If one of the mass-market retailers brought this here at a decent price, they will make alot of moola :D

LG has a TV out that does it i think. In a much larger screen to top it off.

I reckon that active shutter glasses would leave you feeling sick after a full day of gaming
