Maybe I am watching too much tv or something (about an hour or two a day), but I seem to have seen virtually all documentaries on NGC and Discovery! Some of the construction stuff I have seen probably 10-20 times, and the aircrash investigations probably about 30+ times each!

I am just curious if other people think that this is a bit too much! Recently I have been watching mostly CNN/BBC due to the lack of anything better on the documentay channels and reality tv. But if the only watchable thing are the few news channels, which are FREE by the way, then why on earth I am paying near R500 per month???

Because you like ramming it to yourself? Anal lube helps...

The reason why you've run out of things to watch is perhaps because you only watch a few select channels?

i heard DSTV are going to launch a disney channel apperently in late september?

yes they are and you always see new telkom ads! yeay for that kinda makes me feel it's filling up my PVR 500gig HD... damn

Mmm depends what your interests are. Currently I'm filling up my PVR hard-drive every 3 or 4 days, and we never seem to be short of anything to watch. The diet below is a sample of our family viewing needs (includes 1 x 12yr old son, and 1 x wife ;) , and excludes live sports events, movies, music channels etc...

- Oprah
- Soprano's Season 5
- 24
- Lost Season 2
- Perfect Strangers
- Mad About You
- One Tree Hill Season 3
- Two and a Half Men
- Saturday Night Live
- Conan
- Jay Leno
- Everybody hates Chris (Chris Rock)
- Seinfeld
- Arrested Development
- Desperate Housewives Season 2
- That 70's Show
- Mr Bean
- The Simpsons
- Grey's Anatomy
- Scrubs
- Weeds
- South Park
- Nip Tuck
- CSI
- Boston Legal
- The Kumars at #42

PVR needs to be flushed at least once a week with all the stuff that's beinng recorded.

yeah, but I don't watch movies, obviously that is the problem

I mean if I want to watch movies it is far cheaper to rent dvds than having dstv, I enjoy the documentary channels, but there is nothing new there

I've discovered lately that there actually are some good movies on DSTV.
Just look at the index of movies in the guide, whatever you are interested in, check out its rating on imdb.com Anything above 7/10 usually is very good. I am now seldomly disappointed with the movies I choose to watch on DSTV.

I can't use that stupid monthly guide of theirs ... is there a website one can use to print out a schedule of selected movies and genre's ???.

There is a new show on Discovery at 8pm every night called Mythbusters
