hi guys is there a site to look at online for different deals for contracts. I am either looking at the anytime 100 on mtn, if they get their act together. Or the 135 vodacom. I wanna start looking to see at what phones are available. If I go to vodacom, will look at getting a contract end of January. I like the nokia phones. Please help

Anytime 100 is only about 42 minutes of airtime, albeit at any time of day or night.

The Vodacom is actual minutes, but after hours.

So it depends on when you want to make your calls.

I have investigated the new MTN services, and find them way too expensive. It's also at least 50% up from their previous MyCall 100 (which was 100 minutes).

With MTN you will get better phones on the anytime 100 than Vodacom's 135 TopUp. You can't buy data bundles with the included R100.

Vodacom allow you to buy data bundles with the included R135 and they have different charge rate for peak and off-peak calls.

After the R100 on the anytime contract you start getting charged over and above the normal contract cost, on the vodacom (i am guessing its top up 135?) you will always have the same bill every month, plus if you do use it all you can just buy airtime.

The Best So Far ????

I think this is the Best Deal so far. Have you found a better one??

Why are these contracts so complicated, it seems like the Cell Companies are trying their damnedest to stop us from comparing contracts.

The best I have found so far is the HTC Tattoo (Android) on MTN Anytime 100 for R119 that is a mix of 43mins at R2.30p/m and/or 59 MB at R2 p/MB until your R100 is depleted. Includes 25 free SMS. Save R200 with free SIM, connection and delivery here. Not clear if Itemised Billing and CLI is included or extra charge.

This contract is Rand based so when the interconnection prices drop again in March 2010 you will get more than 43 minutes for the R100 airtime.

Interesting fine print on Anytime contracts:
12. Data and SMS Bundles can be loaded onto all new price plans.

18. Unused inclusive Airtime Value shall carry over up to the limit of 5 times the monthly subscription value and any inclusive Airtime Value over and above this shall be lost

19. When a customer tops up with a PayasyouGo airtime voucher value more than R25, this airtime will never expire.

when mtn introduced the anytime package they started screwing the customers..when u ask they say oh no the 2 contracts is the same.but they r lying...my contract charges are way more expensive with anytime 100...i always used to have free minutes left but i never carry anything over..

but like most things in this country the providers make sure they screw for all they can...the providers even set the schedule for the inconnect fees! icasa is a lame duck..i'm still waiting for the contract lengths to be reviewed but i'm not holding my breath..it was postponed but till when who knows...

i was wanting to load a new data bundle onto my contract but i'm not sure i wanna make changes incase they screw something up...

My last contract renewal two years ago with MTN I got a nice Sony W880 on MyCall 100 for about R100 per month. That is 85 min off-peak and 15 min during peak hours.

The W880 was a 3G/HSDPA phone. Check if you can get a 3G Sony now with 100 min airtime for that price. I won't be waiting for you to come back, you won't.

MTN have doubled their prices with these new schemes of theirs.

exacly...the only 1's benefiting are them..my mom got sucked into a R170 contract.. nokia navigator..this for a woman who just makes calls..i'm not sure she knows how to send a sms even...i was so angry when i heard...this being 'advised' by the consultant...

my bill with mtn has always been R199 including Vat. I have R75 airtime a month, along with 500 sms and 10 MB. Its never gone over R199 a month ever

Anytime 100 is R100 worth of data/calls/sms's... I use this with a sms bundle of 200 and R10 worth of data which is 10 megs or something...

My contract is about R200 per month.
