Aopen ATX-ZAX500 PSU

I need some help with a difficult decision. I’m looking for a new PSU that will be strong enough to power a Sapphire HD3650 DDR2 AGP graphics card.

The card’s PSU requirements are:

• 450Watt or greater power supply with 30Amps on 12 volt with 2x4 power connector recommended.

All the PSU calculators I tried recommend a PSU in the 300W to 350W range for my P4 system. Currently I have a 300W PSU with 13Amps on the 12V rail but the PSU is about 6 years old so it’s time for a new one anyway.

My budget is nothing more than R600 & I’m able to get an Aopen ATX-ZAX500 for just below R600. The problem I have with this Aopen is that I cannot find anything on the web (not even on Aopen's global site) to give me specific specs on it, particularly the 12V rail specs.

1. Does anyone on the forum have such a PSU? And what would the 12V rail specs be?
2. If a PSU have specs that says “+12V (1): 19A; +12V (2): 19A” as an example, can I interpret it as 38Amps on the 12V?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
 
I had a couple of Aopen Z450's powering my old rig - the GPU was a Gainward Bliss 7800GS AGP DDR3 - they coped fine. The card required a 6-pin power plug. I had the motherboard, gpu and boot drive on one PSU, no problems, so a Z500 should be fine.

The card you mention should be slightly less power hungry than the one I had...

Just found the box mine came in, and it lists all the power figures on the side:
Both the Z450 and the AX500A PSU have the same figures - peak outputs
+3.3V - 30.0A
+5V - 28.0A
+12V1DC - 15.0A
+12V2DC - 15.0A
-12V - 0.5A
+5VSB - 2.0A

The Aopen will cost me about R580 and the Cooler Master RS-500-PCAR is R585.

The Cooler Master seems to be the better of the two looking at the specs.

Thank you both for the info, it made my descision a little easier :D
