I have APC UPS - plugged into it is my NAS, Server (runningapcupsd) and a single gigabit swich.

I've configured the doshutdown script to shutdown the NAS and the Server - is there a way to completely kill power afterwards - until electricity is restored?

(I obviously don't want the switch slowly draining power over an extended electricity outage)

yes if your PSU on PC looks like this, just hookup the switch to the kettle plug where you would normally have an external monitor

What can be done from an old computer power supply - YouTube

Just joking, no idea but our resident geek @Thor will tell you to use sometype of SONOFF switch stuff

You'd need something external that you can trigger to shutdown the switch.. something like a sonoff triggered by a script when the UPS doshutdown script triggers..

Alternatively, shutdown the UPS form apcupsd, believe there should be a flag that handles that.. this does mean you would need to remember to switch the UPS back on when power is restored, to recharge before the next outage..

Have you tried setting the "KILLUPS" flag to "yes" in A apcupsd?

Will have a look..

Seems a bit overkill... a sonoff - but might work - I have one lying around somewhere.

Manually turning the power back on isn't an option.

So the UPS can't be shutdown then, meaning it's either the sonoff or buying a managed switch with console access so you can script the shutdown of the switch..
